Thank you for the additional dialogue.
The petition issue. Okay I have on many occassions gotten disconnected when filing a petition. I have been fortunate that none of mine were completely erased by the disconnection. (I can remember it happening twice). Both times I checked upon relogging in and found them. I probably would have rewritten it if it hadn't been there. So perhaps the CEO overreacted a bit, however there are a lot of folks on the edge, and that's when they tend to overreact. If CCP had just noted in the original thread, that they would look into it and had then come back and stated they couldn't find the petition would you please resubmit it, we could have avoided the issue as well. So there were two missed opportunities on both sides of this issue.
On the MSN thing and communication lines. The allegations of having dev friends has been well used by many members of a certain alliance. Now I have only witnessed it on the forums, but I suspect the same ones do it in game too. Since up until now its been let go I'm assuming this is a new policy declaring such behavior harassment. This is good and indeed should have been enforced from day one of the game. If said alliance had not ever made such comments or insinuation, a lot of the pent up anger in the community would not exist.
I for one over the last few days had been taking a serious look at if it was worth it to play especially if it was worth it to do anything out of empire due to the forum harassment I've seen many do, and just the general perception. I am still somewhat concerned about the issue of impropeity however it is not as great now with this followup.
I hope we don't have to revisit these things again. It might be time to go through and examine who folks have on their MSN, for the sake of CCP and to avoid future problems. This isn't something you'd have to publish, just something Arkanon could have on hand to help in future investigations.
Anyway I'm glad to see a better stated policy for the future. I hope that we will see increased enforcement of that policy beginning today and through it some diffusion of the tension between the various players.

i think you forgot to tell us he's been kicked from the ingame ccp corporation at least
why are you not revealing the results of that investigation but instead **** around with words to make a couple of paragraphs, meant to convince people of something i'm not quite sure of what exactly, appear out of thin air?
If he was disciplined, they could not legally tell us why due to privacy laws regarding employment.
Oh and its CCP Admiral Chamrajnagar.
